Can Alcohol be compared with Drugs ?

Addictive substances such as alcohol are harmful for the body, and can be addictive. There are many people who argue with this statement, but alcohol fits the definition of a harmful, addictive drug.

Alcohol is dangerous and it’s surprising that it wouldn’t be allowed if it were discovered today.

Alcohol can create dependence and addiction. Many people will argue with this, but alcohol fits all the definitions of a bad drug.

  1. Many people who drink alcohol say that to get the high feeling they need to take more of it to. I would actually say that now the person has become addictive and slave to it.
  2. You feel you cannot do without alcohol. It becomes an integral part of your daily life.
  3. Alcohol abuse is a leading cause of death

An alcoholic is someone who has become reliant on alcohol, and cannot be cured of the addiction. An ex-alcoholic is one who has not had a drink for a long time, but if they have one they are hooked again by their addiction and go through the whole process again.

Alcoholism treatment is available to the alcoholic living in a supportive and drug-free environment. Group therapy sessions help many recovering alcoholics.

One group of people that does meetings exclusively for alcoholics are Alcoholics Anonymous. They collect in the majority of towns and cities in most countries, and many recovering alcoholics find these meetings to be essential in their recovery.

Alcohol is an entrenched industry that many jobs depend on. Alcohol is a toxic substance, and were it discovered in the present day, it would never be licensed as a drug or food. The situation is similar to opium in countries that produce it: people need to make excuses for why it should continue to exist and be legal. If alcohol grew in the US, there would be political pressure for it to be legalized because of the jobs dependent on the crop.

Alcohol kills more people than drugs – it’s time we had a discussion.

With addiction translating to illegal activity, crime is attributed to drug trafficking.

Alcohol abuse causes deaths of innocents by drunk drivers. Isn’t this also a political issue?

The answer

Alcohol consumption should be avoided at all costs because of its many disadvantages. The government will not be able to ban alcohol consumption in most situations because they make a lot of money from it. It actually takes up the majority of the budget.

Alcohol can be compared with drugs, so why not start the conversation?
